LCP and LBU Student Industry Conference 2024
The Leeds Centre for Projects was proud to host the 2nd joint Student Industry Conference between University of Leeds and Leeds Beckett University in the field of project and construction management on 18 June 2024. The event was attended by over 20 project and construction management companies, professional bodies (CIOB, APM and CABE), over 90 students as well as academic staff.
The day commenced with a welcome by Hadi Kazemi and Prof Sam Zulu from Leeds Beckett University followed by four parallel sessions in which students from both universities presented their dissertation research. The streams covered the following topics:
- Project Management Innovation and Technology
- Project Management for Sustainability and Social Impact
- Project Management Strategies and Practices
- Global Project Management Challenges and Opportunities
This was followed by a networking session where students had the opportunity to connect with organisations to explore employment opportunities, get an understanding what industry is looking for as well as advice on career decisions. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all organisations who joined us. It was an invaluable opportunity for our students and they thoroughly enjoyed it.
The day was completed with the awards for the best presentation in each stream as evaluated by the industry and academic representatives. The awards were handed out by our Director Prof Christine Unterhitzenberger. Congratulations to the winners!
The event was organised by our Programme Leaders Dr William Collinge and Dr Luca Sabini (supported by Dr Rodrigo Juarez) together with Hadi Kazemi from Leeds Beckett University.
